Jemma and Simon at a City, Temple, UNESCO site in Europe, Italy

We arrived to Modena around 7pm and spent the first half hour looking for a parking spot. Figuring out Italian parking rules is hard and not make easier by the system of ridiculously narrow one way streets and a complete lack of parking spots. But we managed, went to the main square and even managed to see the cathedral still! There was a mass, but we waited until the end and saw it then.

After an evening pizza, we found a nice parking spot by a park and spent the first reasonably warm night of the trip. Sleeping in just one layer of pijamas rocks!
