Jemma and Simon at a City, Temple in Europe, Spain

On the way back to Barca, we popped in to two towns: the tiny Ripoll and the bigger Vic.

Ripoll has another Romanesque monastery in it, but we arrived there at a wrong time – closed for siesta. We thought about waiting, but to be honest, we had our share of monasteries recently and this one didn’t seem to be that different. So we walked around a little and moved on.

Vic has a nice city centre, though the rest of the town is a bit basic. The cathedral was pretty special though – decorated throughout with mid-20th Century monochromatic canvases, it has a very unique feel, quite unlike any other church we’ve seen. The main square was a bit surprising as well, as it was just dirt – no paving of any sort.
