The taxi operator girl laughed at me when I was ordering a taxi for 3:50am, said she wouldn’t bother going to sleep. I did and slept surprisingly well for a decent 5 hours. Good, I had enough sleepless nights recently! I am travelling slower light, as always. And since it’s the middle of the summer in Brazil and I don’t want to carry a useless coat in there all the time, I’m wearing literally all my clothes now to not freeze on the way to the airport.
Checked in, I refilled my travel companion nuka-cola bottle and munched on some of the dry sausages mum gave me when I was in Poland. I love being Polish sometimes.
The flight was quite productive – I read a couple papers and wrote most of my assignment for the Digital Education course. I also finished reading Necessity, sipping watered down wine and struggling to hold in tears towards the end. Didn’t have the time to even check what films they had available.
And now, landed!
So, first things first. It’s warm. The main goal of this trip is hereby achieved. Everything from now on is a bonus.
I did the bad thing and caught an Uber on the airport. Public transport would require me to take at least two changes and I really didn’t fancy the faff first thing after getting here.
After not too too much searching I got to my airbnb place, a lovely tiny apartment on the fifth floor of a large block behind a massive guarded gate, where I’m hosted by Joana. The view is not bad from up here! Really tired now, so I’m just going to eat something, wash and sleep. Tomorrow, exploring!
