Three days.
In three days the journey begins. I will be sitting on a plane hugging a small backpack with everything I will need to survive the next two months. I’m leaving on Wednesday 13/02/2013. I’ll be back some time in April.
I’m oddly not stressed out at all. I’m not even particularly hyper or excited, I’m just happy and looking forward to it. This journey will not only be the longest holiday abroad I ever had, not only the furthest I ever traveled, not only the greatest cultural shock, but mainly my first long journey alone. This is the most exciting thing about it. That’s the challenge. Australia and New Zealand will be just a warm up. Then: alone in the Sumatran jungle, alone in India. Sure I’m a bit scared, who knows what will happen? Well, screw that, bring it on!
This blog will be my diary. I will try my best to update it as often as I will have access to the internet. If you don’t see an update for three days, send in reinforcements.
Here is a map with a rough plan of where I’m planning to go. My plans for India are still rather sketchy, but I want it that way. I’ll keep updating the map as I go.
