Jemma and Simon at a City, UNESCO site in Europe, Italy

Got to Florence! On the way in we drove through Piazza do Michelangelo and for some fantastic views of the city and David. Perfect way to enter the city!

But then we met the second thing Florence welcomes you with – complete lack of parking spaces. Seriously, don’t drive into Florence. After

a longer time spent on trying to find a free parking spot, we docked in the flat of our patient host. It’s a pretty sweet spot in an old building, with a wooden roof, kitchen in a cupboard, and a classic rock decor. Pretty all right, and right next to the Palazzo Pitti.

We spent the evening relaxing – I was super tired after all the driving today. Jemma battled with the local shops for a while, but then cooked a delicious pasta, served some cheap wine, and we watched Baron Munchausen to sleep.
