Jemma and Simon at a Sea in Europe, Spain

After Figures, we wanted to had to the beach, but decided to visit a seaside town that looked really interesting in the map. Empuriabrava just like like a ribcage of canals.

Turns out, it’s a town made up of interchangeable streets and canals, with houses having a street on one side and a canal on the other. This way, you can park your fancy car on one end, and your fancy yacht on the other! There are massive villas and long beaches, but mostly there are rows and rows of rather basic or ugly houses and uglier hotels. Basically, it’s a seaside resort where rich people can not only enjoy their villas and yachts, but also bask in the envy of less rich people who are trying their best to pretend to be them.

The first property agent we encountered was called Privilege. How fitting.

Needless to say, we didn’t stay for long. Only as long as it took to find some ice cream – which was actually much longer than we expected.

We then headed off to the beach, but not in town – we found a quieter one nearby, Platja de Can Comes. Time to get naked and jump in the sea!
