Jemma and Simon at a City, Temple in Europe, France

Oh my gods was this the right spot to stay for the night! First of all, we started the day right next to a beautiful little stream, having our tea and breakfast on a stone in a middle of it. After this fantastic start of the day, we headed to this supposedly very picturesque village and were utterly swept. It is literally the cutest, most delightful place on Earth!

Located in a little valley amongst forests and cliffs, with the little stream, Blesle is full of historic buildings – I don’t think we’ve seen a single building built after the 15th century. Everything is little and cute and slightly irregular and a bit patchworky, and just sooo delightfully cute! The 12th Century Romanesque church, completely unBaroquen, another church tower, a little keep on a hill with a fantastic view… We even found a surprisingly extensive old tat shop and got a set of liqueur glasses for all the mead and ajerkoniak we’re carrying with us. I mean, I don’t know what to say. Just look at the pictures and revel in the sheer delightfulness of the place!

After we feasted our eyes on this loveliness, we set off for the last leg of the trip. Six hours later, we’re back in Barcelona. Not a bad way to get from A to B, have to say.
